The following is a description of An Evening with Sandra Cisernos from the Kumble Theater website:

Sandra Cisneros, author of the highly acclaimed novel, The House on Mango Street, and the story collection, Woman Hollering Creek, takes center stage at Kumble Theater for an evening of reading and conversation. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, the Lannan Literary Award, the American Book Award, the Thomas Wolfe Prize, and a MacArthur Fellowship. Her work has been translated into more than 20 languages. Cisneros is the founder of the Alfredo Cisneros Del Moral and Macondo Foundations, which serve creative writers.

After sharing selections from her new memoir, A House of My Own, Cisneros will chat with author and LIU Professor of Creative Writing Jessica Hagedorn. The event will be followed by a book signing in the Kumble lobby, with books provided by Greenlight Bookstore.
