Announcing the 2017 Cosenza Prize for Undergraduate Writing

In memory of Joseph Cosenza
Teacher, Writer, Friend

The Cosenza Prize recognizes an exceptional non-fiction text by an undergraduate student of LIU Post.

You may submit:

  • ¬†Argumentative Writing
  • Analytical Writing
  • Research-based Writing
  • Creative Nonfiction
  • Journalism

Submissions may be in traditional or multimedia form.


  • One entry per student
  • 5-10 pages in length
  • Two hard copies
  • Attach a cover sheet with full contact information (your name must not appear anywhere else to preserve anonymity), title of your text, and how to access your text if web-based
  • Entries will not be returned

When and where to enter: Now through Friday, April 14th, 2017. Submit entries at the Writing Center, located in Humanities 202.

The winner will be contacted, and the winner’s name will be posted outside HM 202, on May 5th.
